Product Description |
|
The proliferation of steam power as a source of energy resulted in steamboats playing a larger part in river commerce, as early as the beginning of the 19th century. One of the most famous of steamboats was probably the New Orleans which was commissioned in 1811 and built at the price of approximately $50,000, weighting a whopping 370 tons. Steamboats like the New Orleans changed the way how businesses operated as now those initially cut off and isolated from outside contact had a vehicle to transact with, and the towering mass of steel of Mississippi steamboats must have been a sight to behold in those days. The finished product measures 7" x 31" x 13" and the package contains 399 pieces.
